FORFEITURE
Forfeiture is the government seizure of property connected to illegal activity. In New York State, certain charges involving drug possession in a vehicle, drug sale in a vehicle, weapon possession in a vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated can result in the government seeking to seize your vehicle.
