VEHICULAR CRIMES
Vehicular Crimes and Offenses range from traffic infractions under the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law such as speeding, failing to signal and red light violations to crimes such as Driving with a Suspended License, Reckless Driving and Driving While Intoxicated.
Generally, traffic infractions result in hearings at one of the locations for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. If you are found guilty at a hearing, the penalties can include a fine, points assessed to your license, and suspension and/or revocation of your license.
Accusations of Vehicular Crimes such as Driving with a Suspended License, Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Vehicular Manslaughter in many cases will be heard in the Criminal Courts and the Supreme Courts of the State of New York. Convictions of these crimes can result in fines, license suspensions, community service, required driving training, and even extensive jail sentences.
